Thanks, Kerala! I couldn’t agree more about the “motherhood as martyrdom" idea. In fact, I think one of the best things we can do for our kids is to show them that we are our own people. They might become part of our identity, but we don’t lose our identity simply by becoming mothers. It can be hard to find that balance, but it’s important to try.
