I’ve never been one for self-promotion. As a freelance writer, you’d think I’d be blasting myself and my talents all over any platform that would have me. But that’s just not my style. At least, it wasn’t.

Recently I’ve come to a place where I realize that sometimes my very introverted personality type can indeed benefit from pushing the limits of my comfort zone. It turns out my writing career can also benefit.

I’m not ashamed to admit that my writing has been in a bit of a lull for about the last month or so. Granted, my husband and I sold our home and moved across the country with our toddler to explore what we hope to be greener professional and personal pastures, but all that aside, I’d hit a wall. It wasn’t so much of a big, thick, brick wall, but more of a waist-high pile of rocks. Nevertheless, it existed.

Now that we’re getting more and more settled into our new home, I’m working on reinvigorating my work. In an effort to fan the flames a bit, I did something I’ve never done before. I reached out to past clients I haven’t worked with or heard from in a while. And guess what? It worked!

Riding off of the high of my self-promotion win, I went into overdrive on my other continuous projects. It occurred to me that I haven’t written much about those…
